St. Peter the Apostle School Celebrates Nutrition Month 2026
St. Peter the Apostle School proudly celebrated Nutrition Month 2026 through a series of meaningful, engaging, and educational activities that highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, healthy food choices, environmental care, sustainability, local food, and community well-being.
Guided by the theme “Nutrisyon at Maayos na Kapaligiran, Daan sa Kapayapaan,” our Nutrition Month celebration emphasized that good nutrition goes beyond the food on our plates. It is also about caring for our environment, reducing food waste, supporting farmers and local communities, making sustainable choices, and working together toward a healthier and more peaceful future.
Throughout the celebration, our learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12 actively participated in activities designed to connect nutrition with real-life situations and responsible citizenship.
Grade 1 – My Healthy Earth Plate
Learners created their own healthy plates featuring plant- and animal-based foods and explained their choices through an oral presentation.
Grade 2 – From Seed to Table Story / Mula Butil Patungong Hapagkainan
Learners created storybooks by arranging and pasting pictures that illustrated the journey of food from seed to table.
Grade 3 – Food Waste Detectives
Through drawings and collages, learners became advocates for reducing food waste and encouraged others to practice responsible food consumption.
Grade 4 – Design a Sustainable Lunchbox
Learners designed sustainable lunchboxes and presented their ideas, demonstrating how healthy eating can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility.
Grade 5 – Save the Farm Challenge
Working in groups and collaborating with Science, learners identified common farm problems such as environmental challenges and food production concerns, then developed practical and sustainable solutions.
Grade 6 – Community Food Hero Campaign
Learners created posters celebrating and appreciating farmers and other food heroes who contribute to food security and the well-being of our communities.
Grade 7 – Build a Zero-Waste Meal Plan
Learners prepared meal plans that promoted wise food choices, proper portions, and ways to minimize food waste.
Grade 8 – Food Footprint Investigation
Through infographics, learners explored the environmental impact of food choices and presented ways to make eating habits more sustainable.
Grade 9 – Debate: “Should Schools Serve Only Local Food?”
Learners worked in groups to prepare position papers and presentations, examining the economic, environmental, health, and social perspectives of serving local food in schools.
Grade 10 – Sustainable Food Innovation Challenge
Learners presented business speeches featuring innovative food products or ideas that help reduce food waste and promote sustainable eating.
Grade 11 – Food Sustainability Research Forum
Learners conducted research and shared their knowledge through lectures for younger learners, helping spread awareness about food sustainability and responsible consumption.
Grade 12 – Peace Through Food Project
As a culminating expression of the theme, learners developed community/project proposals that explored how food, nutrition, sustainability, cooperation, and service can contribute to peace and community development.
These activities provided our learners with opportunities to learn, collaborate, think critically, create, communicate, and take action. More importantly, they helped our students recognize the strong connection between food, health, the environment, the economy, and peace.
The celebration also reminded us that every healthy meal, every farmer we appreciate, every food item we save from being wasted, and every sustainable choice we make can contribute to a better world.
St. Peter the Apostle School extends its heartfelt gratitude to our school administrators, teachers, learners, parents, and everyone who supported and contributed to the success of Nutrition Month 2026.
Together, let us continue to choose healthy food, reduce waste, care for our common home, support our local communities, appreciate our farmers, and promote peace through responsible and sustainable living.
