SPAS Scouts Take Action for Ocean Health at the 41st International Coastal Cleanup

Stepping up to protect our shared marine ecosystems, the SPAS Scouting Community rolled up their sleeves and gathered along local shores to take part in the 41st  International Coastal Cleanup last September 19, 2026 at Baseco Beach, Port Area, Manila.

Under this year’s banner theme, “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,” the young scouts tackled coastal pollution head-on. Armed with trash bags, tongs, and gloves, they worked to gather and sort discarded plastics, ropes, and trash littering the shoreline. Rather than just picking up, the scouts recorded their findings to help track pollution trends and support global research on marine conservation.

The theme highlights a crucial reality: clean, thriving oceans are essential to protecting coastal areas from environmental damage, safeguarding marine life, and ensuring long-term community resilience against climate challenges.

By putting the Scout Oath into action, the SPAS Scouting Community showed that real impact begins with local initiative. Their dedication serves as a compelling reminder that empowering youth to care for the environment is key to building cleaner, safer, and more sustainable coasts for the future.
