Welcome to St. Peter the Apostle School!
Jubilee of Altar Servers
For the past months SPAS organized special events where altar servers gather to celebrate their ministry, often as part of the larger Jubilee Year of Hope 2025. These gatherings typically include a Thanksgiving or Opening Mass, opportunities for ongoing formation, talks about vocations, liturgical catechesis, and community-building activities like processions and fellowship. The events aim to deepen the servers' faith, strengthen their calling, promote vocations, reach out to communities and build a strong community of servers.
Significant areas of the Jubilee
Celebration of Ministry: The Jubilee serves as a way to recognize and affirm the valuable service altar servers provide to the Church.
Formation and Catechesis: Events include opportunities for liturgical catechesis, talks on vocation, and guidance on the responsibilities of an altar server.
Spiritual Enrichment: Many Jubilees feature spiritual activities such as a Thanksgiving Mass, Eucharistic adoration, pilgrimage, community outreach that will deepen their relationship with Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
Community Building: These events help create a strong community among altar servers, fostering collaboration and charity within the school and church community.
Vocation Discernment: A key goal is to encourage altar servers to discern well God’s call for them, with leaders providing talks and inspiration.
