SPAS Parents Welcome

S.Y. 2023-2024

Peterian parents filled St. Peter the Apostle School’s gymnasium as it held its parents’ orientation last July 22, 2023. The program commenced with a Holy Mass, setting a spiritual tone for the event presided by our school director, Rev. Fr. Emilio A. Ascaño, LRMS. Our newly appointed principal, Mr. Louie Francis G. Uy, was introduced by our school director to our parents and guardians. This introduction provided a platform for the parents to gain insight into the principal's vision and educational philosophy.

Subsequently, our human resource officer, Mrs. Leila M. Baltazar, took the stage to introduce the school's administrators and non-teaching personnel, highlighting their roles in shaping the students' educational journey. The program flowed into a comprehensive discussion of the mode of learning and important general announcements, ensuring that the parents were well-informed about the school's policies and procedures.

Emphasizing the school's commitment to quality Chinese-Filipino education, a segment was dedicated to the discussion of our Chinese curriculum by our Assistant to the Principal on Chinese curriculum and affairs and subject area coordinator in Chinese, Mrs. Maydene M. Ong. The parents received an overview of the program and its significance in promoting Chinese education.

To maintain a conducive learning environment, the prefect of students, Mrs. Yolanda S. Bernardez, explained the school's student discipline policies. This crucial discussion aimed to align parental support with the school's approach towards instilling values and maintaining discipline among students.

The event also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the Parents Auxiliary officers, who play a vital role in fostering cooperation between parents and the school. The Parents Auxiliary Report given by the SPASPA President, Mrs. Ronelie S. Lato, gave an account of their contributions in the previous year.

Afterwards, the parents and guardians went to the respective classes of their children, so they can have a meeting with their advisers and listen to their reminders before the classes start.

Overall, the Parents’ Orientation Day proved to be an enriching experience for both parents and school personnel. It served as a platform for open communication and collaboration, strengthening the partnership between the school and parents in nurturing the students' holistic development.
