SPAS Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department celebrated “Nutrition Month” last August 11, Friday, at the ECE school grounds.Activities started with their daily routine: praying The Lord’s Prayer, singing the Philippine National Anthem, and performing simple calisthenics which served as their “warm-up” activity.The hardworking teachers of the ECE Department prepared games related to “good nutrition” e.g., “This or That?” wherein the children were shown pictures of two kinds of food, and they would have to choose which food is healthier for them. They were also taught that being healthy does not only include eating the right kind of food but also keeping themselves clean and doing exercises regularly.Parents also prepared a variety of fruits and vegetables for their children on the said day, which served as their snacks as well. It was a pleasing surprise to see that the majority of the kids recognize and love to eat different kinds of fruits and vegetables.With the said activities, the ECE Department is hoping to impart to the kids the proper habits of eating that will make them happy and healthy as they grow.“There is nothing unhealthy about educating youngsters about good nutrition” – Pierre Dukan
