Peterians Take off for a

New School Year

Today, St. Peter the Apostle School opened its doors to new and returning Peterians. It also had its student orientation program for school year 2023-2024 at the SPAS Hall of Hope on the same day. The program began with the warm and encouraging opening remarks by our school principal, Mr. Louie Francis G. Uy. Addressing the Peterians, he emphasized the four core values of the institution and how the students can practice them.

The Learning Resource Center, through its comprehensive library services, showcased an array of resources available to all students. From an extensive collection of books to research materials, the LRC provides invaluable support for research and study needs. Mrs. Marites R. Cruz, the school librarian, not only delivered the presentation but also assured everyone that she is readily available to offer guidance and support to students in effectively utilizing these resources.

During the orientation, the qualifications and responsibilities of classroom and Student Coordinating Body officers were clearly outlined by the Student Activities Coordinator, Ms. Chene Joi G. Pesebre. Classroom officers, chosen through student elections, were highlighted as key liaisons between teachers and their peers. Meanwhile, SCB members were presented as advocates for the student body, responsible for organizing events, addressing student concerns, and promoting school spirit.

The prefect of students, Mrs. Yolanda S. Bernardez, took the stage to introduce the school's student discipline policies. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, the prefect outlined the consequences of misconduct and the mechanisms in place to address behavioral issues. Restorative justice approaches were also highlighted, emphasizing the school's commitment to nurturing a sense of responsibility and growth among students.

The next part of the orientation was held in the students’ respective classrooms discussed by their class advisers. Different activities were also facilitated so as to establish relationships among old and new Peterians.

In conclusion, the SPAS student orientation successfully provided the Peterians with essential information crucial to their success and engagement within the school community. With a focus on academic support, responsible leadership, and a respectful atmosphere, students were well-equipped to embark on their educational journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
