Welcome to St. Peter the Apostle School!
On November 28, 2024, St. Peter the Apostle School celebrated its United Nations and Reading Month with the theme: “Global Peace and Understanding Through Reading”. This historic collaboration between the Araling Panlipunan and English Areas brought forth a series of creative and meaningful activities that showcased students’ talents, fostered a love for literature, and reinforced the school’s commitment to holistic education with its vision of becoming an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) school.
With its theme, its objective emphasized the transformative power of literature in promoting peace, environmental care, and understanding among individuals. It aimed to encourage the students to engage in reading, be able to bring it to life, and embody the morals learned from the stories. To achieve this, the school hosted an exciting lineup of activities such as literary performances, film viewings, and a cultural fair, engaging both parents and students alike. Each grade level and section creatively brought literature to life through a variety of performances, demonstrating how stories can transcend the pages of the books into performances that inspire action and values. These are the following activities presented: Grade 1: Poetry Recitation, Grade 2: Reader’s Theater, Grade 3: Poetry Interpretation, Grade 4: Choral Reading, Grade 5 and 7: Flash Mob, Grade 6: Poetry Interpretation, Grade 8: Extemporaneous Speech, and Grades 9 and 10: Speech Choir.
SPAS also celebrated the United Nations which highlighted the cultural fair that celebrated the rich history, and cultures of the different member countries of the United Nations. This activity provided an opportunity for the parents and the school to work together to promote diversity, inclusivity, and unity within the SPAS community.
Through the combined efforts of the Araling Panlipunan and the English Areas, the school community was reminded of the power of collaboration in working towards a common purpose which is to make this world a better place where understanding while addressing challenges is given importance and to take action in combatting climate change and practicing Laudato Si at all times to take care of our common home.
