First Confession of the Candidates for First Holy Communion
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”And you forgave the guilt of my sin.- Psalm 32:5
In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Jesus comforts us, strengthens us on our journey, and reconciled us with God, with the Church, and with the people we have hurt. Through this sacrament, the Church celebrates Jesus’ gift of forgiveness.
On November 25, 2022 at 8:30 a.m., the SPAS Grade 3 and some Gr. 4 and Gr. 5 pupils finally received the Sacrament of Reconciliation to say sorry for the wrong deeds they have done in their lives and to experience God's healing through forgiveness.
To learn how to make a good confession and have a meaningful experience of asking for God’s forgiveness, the pupils first underwent a series of formation through their Christian Living Education (CLEd) classes. They were taught how to reflect and examine their conscience. Also, these prepared them for their First Holy Communion.
