Ash Wednesday 2024

 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand;

repent and believe in the gospel.”

Mark 1:15

Today, February 14, 2024, the SPAS Community, from ECE to SHS Department, celebrates Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of fasting, reflection, and remembrance before the Holy Week and the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. On this day as well, each class received their Lenten Can of Sacrifice, an effort to make our students aware of the many needs of our brothers and sisters and become not just academic achievers but socially responsive and mission oriented individuals. The Celebration of the Word and imposition of ashes was led by Rev. Fr. Roberto Fabillo, LRMS, parochial vicar of St. Peter the Apostle Parish, who in his reflection pointed out the very important task of partaking in the observances of Lent and the fruit it produces to better benefit our spirituality.
