SPAS @ 46: Joyfully, We Receive…Joyfully, We Give
By: Jana Keisha O. Caoile, Student Coordinating Body Secretary
St. Peter the Apostle School (SPAS) celebrated its 46th Foundation Anniversary virtually with the theme "Joyfully, We Receive... Joyfully, We Give" last February 22, 2022 which coincided with the Feast of St. Peter's Chair. Despite the present situation, the administration, faculty and non-teaching personnel, along with the Student Coordinating Body (SCB), were able to make the celebration joyful and meaningful. The celebration started with a Thanksgiving Mass in honor of St. Peter which was attended physically by the administrators and non-teaching personnel, the SCB Officers and some SPAS students and alumni choir members along with representatives from the SPAS Alumni Association (SPASAA) and SPAS Parents’ Auxiliary (SPASPA). The Holy Mass was presided by our School Director, Rev. Fr. Emilio A. Ascaño, LRMS and the thanksgiving message was delivered by Mrs. Vilma P. Quijano, the School Principal.
It was followed by a program participated in by the students in their respective Google Classrooms. Everyone enjoyed the activities and presentations which included games about St. Peter and our school. A bingo game prepared by the SCB Officers describing the wonderful experiences of a Peterian in the school was also played. Moreover, students also created virtual presentations showcasing their talents, likewise, they shared why they loved SPAS. As exciting as those activities mentioned was watching the school promotion video which was also made by SCB Officers featuring the facilities of the school and the identity of SPAS as a whole.
Indeed, the 46th Foundation Day is a testimony of how Peterians celebrate their core values of 智 Zhi (Wisdom), 仁 Ren (Benevolence/Kindness), 勇 Yong (Courage), and 信 Xin (Faith).
